Fashion content & virtual try-on
A real garment photo and a model become a real, photorealistic try-on image — here's how it actually works, what it costs, and where it still falls short.
What virtual try-on actually is
Virtual try-on generates a real, photorealistic image of a specific garment worn by a specific model — without a physical photoshoot. It's a genuinely active area of AI research and product development across the fashion industry, not a ToonMate- specific invention; this platform brings a real, working version of it into the same place you already generate characters and video.
How Fashion Studio works
You provide two real images: a garment photo, and a model — either one of your own existing characters' reference images, or a fresh photo you upload. Fashion Studio sends both to a real, documented virtual try-on model and returns a photorealistic result showing the garment actually worn by that model.
Cost and billing, honestly
Unlike 3D character generation (which is bring-your-own-key only on this platform), Fashion Studio is billed through your normal quota and wallet, at a real, published per-generation rate — because that rate is actually, cleanly published by the underlying vendor, unlike some 3D providers. If you've added your own provider key under Provider Keys, your generations are billed to that account instead, at no cost to your ToonMate quota or wallet.
Garment photo tips
A clear, well-lit photo with minimal background clutter produces a real, more reliable result than a dim or cluttered one. Both a flat-lay garment photo and an on-model garment photo work as real inputs — the system is designed to handle either, though results can vary by garment type.
Honest limitations
Garment-fit accuracy in AI virtual try-on is a genuinely imperfect, actively researched problem industry-wide — visible artifacts are possible on complex garments, intricate patterns, or unusual poses, even with the strongest available models. Test with your own real garment photos before relying on this for anything client-facing or commercially critical.
Beyond 2D: 3D garment previews
This platform's own 3D generation can turn a standalone product photo into a real, rotatable 3D model — genuinely useful for an e-commerce product page or an AR-style preview, a real step beyond what a flat 2D try-on image alone offers.
Reaching fashion clients
Once you're producing real fashion content worth showing, the Creator Marketplace is the real, built-in path to reaching brands and clients directly — list your availability, showcase your work, and respond to real commission requests, the same system already covering creators across other categories.
Frequently asked
Do I need my own model photos for every garment?
No — you can reuse one of your own existing characters as the model across multiple garments.
Is this feature restricted to a specific plan tier?
No — unlike several other advanced features, Fashion Studio isn't gated to enterprise/BYOK-only; it's billed like standard generation.
