Cookie Policy

A plain account of the cookies and browser storage ToonMate actually uses — kept deliberately short, because the real list is short.

Last updated: 19 September 2026

Provisional document. This Cookie Policyis a genuine, good-faith draft covering ToonMate's real features as they exist today — it has not yet been reviewed by qualified legal counsel. Treat it as provisional pending that full legal review, not as a finished, binding legal instrument.

What we use, and why

Name / typePurposeEssential?
Session cookie (httpOnly)Keeps you signed in to your ToonMate or platform-admin account. Never readable by page scripts, which is a deliberate security choice.Yes
CSRF token cookieProtects state-changing actions (like billing changes) from being triggered by another site.Yes
Local storage — UI preferencesRemembers small, non-sensitive choices, like a dismissed onboarding card or your last-selected date range on an analytics page. No, but harmless — never shared or read by us
Visitor-analytics cookie (httpOnly)A random ID, set the first time you visit our public site while logged out, so we can count real return visits and see an approximate, IP-derived country/city for our own admin dashboard. Never readable by page scripts. Not set at all once you're logged in — your account activity is already covered by our separate, existing usage-analytics system instead. No

What we do not use

ToonMate does not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we don't sell or share this data with an ad network. We do run one first-party analytics cookie now (the visitor-analytics row above) so we can see how many people visit our public pages, roughly where from, and how often they return — that's the full extent of it: no fingerprinting, no following you to other sites, and it's never set while you're logged into an account. Usage analytics you see in your own Achievements, streak, and admin usage-analytics pages remains ToonMate's own first-party, server-side event log, separate from this cookie.

How to control cookies

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking the essential session cookie will sign you out and prevent you from staying logged in; everything else on this list is either non-essential local storage you can clear at any time with no effect on your account, or strictly required for the platform to work securely.

Changes to this policy

If ToonMate's real cookie usage changes, this page will be updated to match — see the "Last updated" date above. See also our Privacy Policy.
